Download the optional pack, test it with the network off, and know which features still need a connection.
Know what the offline pack does
GoThai’s optional offline translator pack supports English–Thai text translation in both directions and photo text recognition in the browser. Downloading the pack requires an eligible GoThai Pro account. After installation, enable Offline mode to select local processing for your next translation.
The pack is separate from downloaded course audio. Saving audio for a unit does not install translation, and installing translation does not download the course library. Choose the resources you expect to need for your trip.
Download while you have a connection
- Open GoThai on the browser and device you will take with you.
- Sign in with an eligible Pro account.
- Open You → Offline translator, or use the offline setup offered in Translate.
- Allow enough device storage and wait for setup to finish before leaving the page.
- Open Translate and enable Offline for your next request.
Install the pack on each device or browser where you intend to use it. A download on your laptop does not make it available on your phone. Adding the PWA to your home screen is convenient, but it does not by itself download these optional resources.
Test text and photos before departure
Try a short English sentence, then swap the direction and try a short Thai sentence. Compare the displayed source and target languages before submitting. For photos, choose a clear image with a small amount of text and check both the recognized text and the translation.
Then disable your network connection and repeat the tasks you expect to use. Test with non-sensitive sample text or a menu image. If the pack is unavailable, reconnect and complete setup rather than assuming the app will switch engines automatically.
Online and offline modes use different engines, so their results may differ. Short, clear inputs are easier to check than a long paragraph with several unrelated requests.
Understand what still needs a connection
Offline translation does not make sign-in, cloud progress synchronization, new resource downloads, or online speech features work without a network. Downloaded course audio can play offline independently of these services. See the translation modes comparison before deciding what to prepare.
Machine translations you save remain in that browser on that device. They do not synchronize to your account, including when you sign in on another device. The translation privacy policy explains local storage and online processing.
Recheck the pack after storage changes
Clearing site data or automatic browser storage eviction can remove downloaded resources. Before a day with limited connectivity, open the app and check the pack again. Keep essential addresses and booking details separately accessible so a missing download does not prevent you from showing your destination.
