English–Thai translation, wherever the day takes you.
GoThai translates English to Thai and Thai to English. Type a short message, translate text from a menu or sign, or use the optional downloaded pack when you are away from a connection. Choose Online or Offline mode explicitly in the translator.
Open Translate and select English as the source language.
Type up to 240 characters in online mode. Use the swap button to translate Thai to English instead.
Choose Translate to see the result. Listen when speech playback is available, copy it, or save it in this browser.
Use short, clear wording and include enough context for ambiguous expressions. Machine translation can misinterpret names, tone, and context. Check important wording with a fluent speaker before relying on it.
Translate Thai menus and signs from a photo
Choose Translate a photo to take a picture or upload one. GoThai recognizes the text and places its translation over the image. You can read the extracted text separately and export the translated image to your device. Clear, well-lit photos with readable text work better than blurred images or decorative lettering.

Offline translation and online translation use different engines, so results may differ. Switching modes chooses the engine for your next submission. Offline translation does not make sign-in, cloud synchronization, or online speech features work without a connection.
Prepare offline translation before a trip
While connected, sign in with an eligible Pro account and download the offline translator pack from GoThai.
Keep enough device storage available and wait for the download to finish.
Enable Offline mode and test text and photo translation before departure.
Recheck download availability if you clear browser data or your device frees storage automatically.
What happens to your translations?
Online submissions are processed through GoThai using Microsoft Azure. In Offline mode, translation inputs stay in the browser for local processing. GoThai’s translation endpoints do not store submitted text, uploaded photos, recognized text, or translation results in its database or object storage.
Translations you explicitly save remain in this browser, including after sign-out. They do not synchronize to your account. Clearing browser storage removes them. Read the translation privacy policy for provider processing and storage details.
Which languages does the translator support?
GoThai translates between English and Thai in both directions. You can type text or translate text from a photo, such as a menu or sign. Online text translation accepts up to 240 characters per request. Machine translation can make mistakes, especially with names, ambiguous text, or difficult images.
Does GoThai translation work offline?
Yes, after an eligible GoThai Pro account downloads the optional offline pack and you enable Offline mode. The downloaded pack supports English–Thai text translation and photo text recognition in the browser. Download it while connected, allow enough device storage, and check its availability before traveling. Device storage eviction can remove downloaded resources.
Are saved translations synced to my account?
No. Saved machine translations stay in this browser on this device, including after sign-out. They are not uploaded to your GoThai account and cannot be recovered from the account after browser data is cleared. Course bookmarks and learning progress use account synchronization separately.
How does Thai photo translation work?
Open Translate, choose Translate a photo, then take or upload a picture. GoThai recognizes English or Thai text and displays the translation over the image. Online mode uses Microsoft Azure processing; Offline mode uses the downloaded browser pack. You can also read the extracted text and export a translated image.
Turn a useful phrase into a habit
A translator helps with unfamiliar text in the moment. For conversation practice, explore Thai for travel or start with beginner Thai lessons, then return for listening and review.
